For all who are doubting Warner Bros. and DC, this must be a shocker - apparently, the studio has already come up with plans for a second Suicide Squad flick, and they’re more than willing to set those plans in motion!
And this says something about the slate of DC movies planned by Warner Bros., as well as about the quality of the movies waiting to be released. While there are naysayers bashing Batman v Superman from all directions, the movie is expected to have a huge opening weekend, given how rapidly the tickets sold on the 29th of February.
As far as the first Suicide Squad film is concerned, we guess we can all agree that the first and the second trailer blew away all expectations. And, apparently, Warner Bros is more than convinced that it will yield a big profit. But why do we say that it is all just “apparent”?
For the moment, this is just a rumor. The Wrap reports that David Ayer and Will Smith are planning on making a cop thriller with fantasy elements titled Bright, right after the release of Suicide Squad (August 5). According to the website, the plan is to finish shooting of Bright just in time, in order to start working on the second Suicide Squad (sometime in 2017).
So yes, this is just a rumor for now. But given the star-power behind the movie and the director, we can say that this rumor may just be true. And, if it is so, we can safely say who will most certainly survive after the first suicide mission.
And that is Will Smith's Deadshot, probably the most controversial casting choice made by Ayer and Warner Bros. What do you think, though? Will Suicide Squad make enough money?
