Stephen Lang Wants to Be Cable

Stephen Lang for Cable

Stephen Lang’s portrayal of Colonel Miles Quaritch in Avatar has made him a popular fan-favorite choice for the role of Cable. Even back when there was no reason to believe that the X-Men universe would introduce the character, his name was still mentioned by those who saw the obvious resemblance between the actor and the mutant.

So you can bet that now, when it’s been announced that Deadpool 2 would feature the no-nonsense hero, his name always comes up in the conversation. And the best part is that Stephen Lang himself is campaigning for the role.

For those of you who don't know, the guy is 63 years old. But this doesn't necessarily mean anything, since Stephen Lang looks more than ready to portray Cable. A couple of days ago, the actor posted a couple of pics on his Twitter account, with very interesting captions. Check them out below!

As previously mentioned, he’s 63 years old. Is he too old to be in a superhero movie? Not necessarily. However, when we take into consideration the fact that Cable is a fan favorite, and that Fox will most likely use him more than once, Stephen Lang doesn't seem to be the best choice they could make.

Don't get us wrong; he would be awesome in the role. But we can bet that Fox has big plans for Cable, and Stephen Lang isn't getting any younger. And this is a problem.

We believe that, unfortunately, he most likely won’t get this Deadpool 2 role. However, since the Merc with a Mouth has a knack for breaking the fourth wall, we do expect that some references will be made. Heck, we even suspect that the studio will take the fans' wishes into account and have Stephen Lang in a cameo.

What do you think, though? Is he up for the role?

More importantly, should Fox take Stephen Lang into consideration for more than just one movie?
