Since there is nothing known about the SHAZAM movie coming in 2019, this latest news took us by surprise. Apparently, Warner Bros. has already found the actor to portray Billy Batson's superpowered alter-ego. The news hasn't been confirmed by anybody just yet, but the actor who was supposedly hired was crystal clear on Twitter.
Yesterday, Alan Ritchson answered a fan's question concerning the role of SHAZAM. Check it out below:

Is this a not-so-good joke from the actor? It might be. If Alan Ritchson has indeed been cast as SHAZAM, then this is quite a gamble for Warner Bros., since he is an unknown actor, even when compared to the other stars of the DCEU. Thus far, the actor's biggest role was as Raphael in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Was he cast because of his skills in the Mo-cap? Does that mean that SHAZAM will be entirely created with CGI? It would be rather strange, wouldn't it?
Other than that, he’s appeared mostly in TV shows and TV movies. So how can he even be compared to someone like Dwayne the Rock Johnson?
Of course, there is also another reason why we believe that this could be a joke on his part. And that is that such an announcement wouldn't be made in such an easy to miss way. The Rock, who has kept the fans in the loop with everything concerning SHAZAM, wouldn't have missed this opportunity.
In any event, it's best to wait for confirmation. Whether it will be from Dwayne The Rock Johnson, Warner Bros., or New Line Cinema, this news will be more trustworthy.
