Robin and Joker – An Interesting Theory!

Robin transformed

We've been aching to see Robin on the big screens, for the first time portrayed in a way that would make us, the fans, feel satisfied. We've had him in the atrocious Joel Schumacher films and we might have had him, portrayed by Joseph Gordon Levitt, at the end of The Dark Knight Rises.

Well, in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice we might have this occasion. Let's start with the first Robin rumor, which wasn't debunked until now.

Jena Malone as the female Robin

Carrie Kelly - Robin
Carrie Kelly – Robin

Back when Batman v Superman started shooting, Jena Malone was spotted on the set by the vigilant eyes of the fans. Sure enough, at first, people believed that she was just paying a visit to Zack Snyder, with whom she previously worked on Sucker Punch.

But then the rumor started: what if she is the first female Robin to be presented on the big screens? What if she is Carrie Kelly from The Dark Knight Returns? We all know that Zack Snyder will heavily draw from this graphic novel. And this is when the character made her first appearance.

Furthermore, Jena Malone's sported a haircut resembling the one from the comics, when she was on set. So"¦

In any way, neither did she nor Zack Snyder reveal who the actress will portray.

On the next page, a new rumor surfaced this days!

The new Boy Wonder

Eli Snyder in Watchmen
Eli Snyder in Watchmen

This rumor comes from Clay Enos, with whom Zack Snyder has worked on Watchmen. There isn't too much to say about it: the photographer posted a pic on Twitter with the caption Boy Wonder. The pic was with Zack Snyder and his son, Eli Snyder.

The director has previously employed his son in his films. In this way, the supposed new Robin has been the young Leonidas in 300, as well as the young Rorschach in Watchmen. Sure enough, he has credits only in his father's movies. So is this a rumor or a confirmation?

In any way, it would be a bold move from Snyder to have an inexperienced actor portray Robin.

UPDATE: WE FORGOT TO MENTION – CLAY ENOS IS ALSO THE PHOTOGRAPHER OF BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE.

On the next page: which Robin?

Which Robin?

Red Hood
Red Hood

It isn't known which Robin will appear in Batman v Superman - in any case, it won't be, most likely, Dick Grayson, who (as well all know) is dead in this continuity. So this leaves us with the other possibilities.

However, there is one everybody wants to see - and that is Jason Todd, the Robin which lost his mind and became Red Hood. Of course, given the fact that Grayson is the one to die at the hands of Joker, this Red Hood might as well be an amalgam of both Dick and Jason. Which sounds good to us, since it will mark an actual change of personality for the character. Surely something as traumatic as death would change someone to the core"¦

On the next page, an interesting theory about Robin and Joker

Fun theories with Robin and Joker

Joker
Joker

We don't know whether or not the Joker will appear in any way in Batman v Superman. However, we do know that he played the ultimate prank on Batman and that the Dark Knight will appear in Suicide Squad.

This theory starts exactly from this point and is also related as to how the new Joker appears. He is clearly psychotic (which is nothing like the anarchist interpretation of Heath Ledger, nor like the ga(n)gster Joker of Jack Nicholson).

In this way, this theory suggests that Joker is none other than Jason Todd. Thus, Joker is a former Robin, killed by the original Clown Prince of Crime, whose place he has taken.

This wouldn't be the first time this has happened. The animation Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker sees Robin kidnapped and tortured and manipulated by the Joker. This Robin is now a Joker Jr. so to speak.

A confrontation between Batman and these two follows, with the deranged Robin killing his newfound senior.

Where can this lead? Check out the next page!

A new Joker is born

Notice the J - it can stand for Jason...
Notice the J – it can stand for Jason…

In this way, an even more deranged version of the Joker was born. Thus, we may not get the Red Hood, but something else. A Joker with a tragic backstory - and we all love our villains to be rather tragic characters, don't we?

The treatment the Joker applies to Harley before being Harley Quinn (as seen in the Suicide Squad trailer) may be a reiteration of what has happened to the former Robin. Now he wants to change someone too, to break someone too.

So this means that Eli Snyder will most likely be an amalgamated version of Nightwing, while the Joker"¦
