Three MCU Shows Confirmed For Disney+ Release In 2024

2024 is going to be the slimmest year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a very long time. Much of that has to do with the Hollywood strikes that shut the business down for months on end. Be that as it may, MCU fans are going to have less to enjoy next year. Be that as it may, we still have a few shows coming to Disney+ and Disney has confirmed at least three of them that are coming down the pipeline in 2024: Echo, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries and X-Men ‘97

Disney confirmed the news in a press release. All three shows have been in the works for some time. Echo is a spin-off of Hawkeye, with Alaqua Cox reprising her role as the title character from the series. Similarly, Darkhold Diaries is a WandaVision spin-off with Kathryn Hahn returning as Agatha Harkness. Lastly, X-Men ‘97 was announced several years back but is finally coming to fruition. It serves as a continuation of the much beloved X-Men: The Animated series from the ‘90s.

Here is the synopsis for Echo.

“The series tells the origin story of Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.”

Marvel has several other shows currently in development for Disney+. Ironheart, which was teed up in last year’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, already finished filming months ago. Daredevil: Born Again has also been in production for quite some time. There are also a couple more long-awaited animated projects such as Spider-Man: Freshman Year and Marvel Zombies. It seems as though at least some of those have been pushed to 2025.

The MCU has had a down year, with both Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels disappointing at the box office. Only Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was an unqualified success. Secret Invasion, which aired on Disney+ earlier this year, was also a critical misfire. Next year will give Marvel the chance to recalibrate a bit. The only movie currently set to hit theaters is Deadpool 3. Everything else from Phase 5 and Phase 6 has been delayed to 2025 and beyond.

Echo arrives on Disney+ on January 10, 2024.
