The Batman: Arkham Trilogy Is Coming To The Nintendo Switch

Some of the most acclaimed superhero games of all time are finally coming to the Nintendo Switch. The Batman: Arkham Trilogy is set to make its way to the console this fall. The news was announced during the recent Nintendo Direct, with a trailer released for the collection as well. Check it out.

The collection will include 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum, 2011’s Batman: Arkham City and 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight. Not only will the base games be included, but all DLC for all three games comes with the bundle as well. The games will release in the fall, though no specific release date has been revealed as of yet. There is also no price available as of this writing. The game can, however, be wishlisted on Nintendo’s website. The page for the game can be found at this link

Here is the synopsis for the Batman: Arkham Trilogy.

“Become Gotham City’s ultimate protector across the iconic Batman: Arkham Trilogy. Face off against notorious DC Super-Villains: The Joker, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, and more in Batman: Arkham Asylum. Step into the shadows of Batman: Arkham City’s open world, the new maximum security “home” for thugs, gangsters, and insane criminal masterminds. In Batman: Arkham Knight, tear through the streets of Gotham and take on the ultimate threat in the trilogy’s epic conclusion.”

The Batman: Arkham games are widely acclaimed, dating back to 2009’s Arkham Aslyum. That game, in particular, was heralded as one of the best superhero video games of all time up to that point. It won many awards in its day and went on to sell well over four million copies. Arkham City would find similar acclaim a couple of years later, expanding the scope of the universe into Gotham City. While Gotham Knight would prove to be even more expansive, though it wasn’t quite as heralded as the first two games.

As far as more recent DC games go, Gotham Knights arrived last year and was met with a somewhat soft response from fans and critics. It was a spiritual successor of sorts to the Arkham games, but focused on the Bat Family in the aftermath of Batman’s death. Meanwhile, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is awaiting release after years of development and multiple delays. It is currently due to arrive in 2024.

The Batman: Arkham Trilogy arrives this fall for the Nintendo Switch.
