Marvel has revealed some new official look at Harrison Ford as Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World. The look comes as part of a new video celebrating 85 years of Marvel this year. Most of the video is a look back at much of what came in the first eight and a half decades of the company’s existence. However, the end of the video teases some of what’s to come. That includes Ford’s forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, as well as glimpses of Thunderbolts and Daredevil: Born Again. Check it out.
The looks at the upcoming projects don’t come until the end of the video. One of the first new things we see is a shot of the main cast of Thunderbolts assembled together. Since trailers for the movie have only played at events like D23 thus far, that’s important. We also got a very brief look at Charlie Cox suited up for Daredevil: Born Again. The much-anticipated show is set to arrive on Disney+ sometime in 2025. Again, we haven’t had a trailer yet so this is a big deal.
As for Red Hulk, he is the very last thing we see in the video. We previously got a brief glimpse of the character in the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World. This is more substantial. Harrison Ford is taking over as Thunderbolt Ross in next year’s Brave New World. William Hurt, who previously played the role in the MCU, passed away in 2022. Hurt never had the chance to become Red hulk on screen – but Ford will. The man behind Han Solo and Indiana Jones will now be adding an iconic comic book character to his impressive resume.
Here is the synopsis for Captain America: Brave New World.
“Anthony Mackie returns as the high-flying hero Sam Wilson, who’s officially taken up the mantle of Captain America. After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”
Aside from Anthony Mackie’s first solo Captain America film and Thunderbolts, Marvel Studios also has Fantastic Four coming out next year. These movies will help set the table for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, which are coming in 2026 and 2027, respectively. Robert Downey Jr. will be playing Doctor Doom, with Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo directing. Downey previously played Tony Stark in the MCU beginning with 2008’s Iron Man. His return has been the subject of much conversation since it was announced at SDCC last month.
Captain America: Brave New World hits theaters on February 14, 2025. Thunderbolts follows on May 2, 2025.
