Infinity Wars Have Found Their Directors

The Infinity Wars release dates

Avengers: Age of Ultron is the last time when Joss Whedon will helm an Avengers movie - Infinity Wars, the two parter that will see Thanos clashing with Earth's mightiest heroes, will have another director. And now we know who will be.

The Infinity Wars (titled Infinity War Part I and Infinity War Part II) have long been rumored to have this pair of directors at the helm. The movies will be shot back to back in 2016 and 2017 and will be released in 2018 and 2019.

You have seen their last film last year - the mega-success Captain America: The Winter Soldier, after they had a career of making mainly comedies. The Russo Brothers (Anthony and Joe) surprised everybody with how they changed gears with the spy/thriller Winter Soldier.

Now, Infinity Wars are just above the horizon, and we can frankly say that we are very excited to see them at work again. Captain America: The Winter Soldier wasn't just when they themselves changed their style, but also when Marvel adopted a newer and more serious tone. And while the Winter Soldier was surpassed by Guardians of the Galaxy at the box-office, it is surely one of the best Marvel flicks as of yet.

Avengers: Age of Ultron announces itself of being more serious in tone too, with the villainous Ultron sending shivers down our spine even in the trailers (and rumored to bring the downfall of one big Marvel hero). So should we expect that this trend will continue with other Marvel movies too? Should we expect that the Infinity Wars will also be more serious in tone?

Given the fact that Thanos will arrive and that, most likely, he will shatter the current Avengers heroes, the Infinity Wars will be the game changer for the MCU - what will happen afterwards is everybody's guess. But having the Russo Brothers at the helm of both of the movies tells us that Marvel indeed has a plan.
