Basically, the Star Wars universe is the one that holds the most surprises for the fans - and now Slash Films came up with a scoop, regarding the plot of the first Star Wars spin-off. The film is scheduled for release on the 16th of December 2016 (so it was about time we heard something about it) and it will be directed by Gareth Edwards (known for Godzilla).
Plot scoop
Basically, Slash Films say that the first Star Wars spin-off will be a heist movie set in the times of Star Wars - Episode IV: A New Hope. Apparently, a group of bounty hunters are hired by the rebels to steal the plans for the first Death Star (which, as you know, ended up blown up during the New Hope).
Of course, the studio executives didn't say anything about this scoop - so, obviously, it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Bounty hunters? Does this mean that"¦
About a year ago, the first news about a Star Wars universe were revealed, news which also included the idea of a plan for Star Wars spin-offs. If Slash Films' scoop is true, then the year-old rumors concerning a Boba Fett Star Wars spin-off were true.
The other spin-off, apparently, will be about Han Solo, although nothing is known about it.
What else has transpired?
Apparently, this Boba Fet Star Wars spin-off will also see the appearance of the Millennium Falcon. However, the starship isn't owned yet by Han Solo, which means that Harrison Ford's character won't be seen in this film.
What else do we know about the film?
Besides the release date (which will be almost a year after the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and the director (who said that he always wanted to be a Star Wars rebel), we know that the script will be penned by Gary Whitta (who is known for The Book of Eli from 2010 and After Earth from 2013).
