Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Might Debut this Week

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

While next summer (or thereabout) the biggest film will definitely be Avengers: Age of Ultron, the winter will see the release of another behemoth: Star Wars - Episode VII: The Force Awakens. And, since the film will be released on the 18th of December, it is about time the studio released a first trailer. Right?

What were the rumors?

A couple of weeks ago, the rumor (which was found here and there) was that the first trailer will debut on the 17th of December (so almost exactly 1 year before the release date), in front of this year's most anticipated film, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

However, the rumor was quickly debunked. Afterwards, there was no word about the first trailer any longer"¦ until yesterday, when more and more sources started mentioning the same date for the release of the trailer. And this date will come sooner than everybody expected it.

When will the trailer be released?

Again, this is just another rumor, but it is the most credible one at this point. It appears that Disney has indeed big plans for this movie's trailer, bigger even than for Avengers: Age of Ultron (damn Hydra"¦).

Two Reddit users (Crichton252 and KokiriEmerald), who work at important cinema chains in US, say that the trailer will debut this weekend, in exactly 100 theaters. This isn't all, since the same users say that every movie that will be shown on those screens will be preceded by the trailer.

What other information do we have?

Well, it appears that the teaser trailer (which was rumored to be 1 minute long) will actually last for 90 seconds. Furthermore, all these 100 theaters are scheduled to screen Disney's Big Hero 6 during the earliest hours.

So now, until the weekend comes, all we have to do is to wait for an official announcement from the studio. Other than that, check out the cool gif Making Star Wars uncovered - it appears that this is taken from the actual teaser trailer, with the Millennium Falcon being the last thing we see on screen.
