While it’s rumored that the final Wolverine solo flick will be titled Old Man Logan, fans shouldn't bet on it, even though Hugh Jackman was the one to start the rumor in the first place. Leaving aside the many characters Fox can’t use to adapt this storyline (which isn't actually such a big a problem in itself for the right scriptwriter), the leaked set photos reveal that the final Wolverine flick won't be set in a wasteland.
Furthermore, 20th Century Fox has already registered two title variations for this film - and neither one of them is Old Man Logan.
Thus, a couple of months ago a rumor (or a lucky guess, for that matter) said that Wolverine 3 will be titled Weapon X. Later, in X-Men: Apocalypse it was revealed that Wolverine actually escapes said program, in what is now the best (if most unnecessary) scene in the entire flick.
According to the X-Men Films Twitter account, the name of the film will be Wolverine: Weapon X or, simply, Weapon X, these being the names registered by the studio. So could this mean that Old Man Logan is out in favor of another full origin story for the character?
Next #Wolverine is titled WOLVERINE: WEAPON X or simply WEAPON X for short. Fox has registered the titles. #XMen

Not necessarily. The comic book version of Weapon X has already been adapted (sort of), and the brief scene from X-Men: Apocalypse further implies that we won't see it again. However, as has happened many times with comic book movies, the final Wolverine flick may adapt more than just one comic book storyline.
And seeing that X-23 will most likely be featured in the movie, this is probably for the best.
But, then again, we would have loved an Old Man Logan adaptation, as well, or probably even more. What do you think?
