Terminator: Genisys Trailer - Does It Deliver or Not?

Terminator: Genisys

After a long wait (or just too short for some), the trailer for Terminator: Genisys has hit. All the fans have been stuck in limbo ever since the project was announced, with very few details about this project being revealed over the time.

And, unfortunately, all that was revealed was a bit disturbing. Probably the most disturbing news about Terminator: Genisys was that in it we will see an aging T-800.

But enough talking for now - check out the brand new trailer for Terminator: Genisys below!

What's new?

Well, from one point of view, nothing is new - in a way and from what we have seen in the trailer, this new film seems to rehash the storylines from Terminator and Terminator: Judgement Day. And since it also brings us a few glimpses of the future world, which is devastated by the war with the machines, it can be said that it is a good rehash, so to speak.

But while sticking with the old stories work some times, from what we have seen in the first trailer from Terminator: Genisys maybe the storyline should have been improved.

How come?

There are an awful lot of nods to the original movies - but they seem to be too blunt. In a way, it all seems like an awful mash-up between the first film, the second film and a new aesthetic coming from the new director (Alan Taylor of Game of Thrones).

From these first glimpses, Terminator: Genisys is far away from the feel of the first two movies, being rather as stuffed and as stiff as Terminator: Rise of the Machines.

As a conclusion"¦

we cannot say that we have waited long enough for this movie to happen, especially after Terminator: Salvation. But, of course, we may be wrong - after the movie's special effects are completely finished (yes, we are being a little ironic about how the special effects look in the trailer), after the entire storyline unfolds in front of us, maybe Terminator: Genisys will prove to be a worthy reboot/sequel/or whatever it may be.
