This week has seen a big change in the cast of Suicide Squad - Tom Hardy, which was supposed to portray Rick Flag, the leader of the squad, dropped out in the last minute because of scheduling conflicts, which is quite the peculiar reason.

But this isn't all, since his replacement (wanted by both the director and the studio, as said in here) was supposed to be Jake Gyllenhaal - but he didn't take the role.

Now Warner Bros is eyes two other actors to take on the role of Rick Flag, actors who have seen quite a rise in the past few years. One of them has recently played a god among people, while the other one can be said to have lived with fury.

Actors for Rick Flag

The first actor is Joel Edgerton, who has surprised everybody with his heartfelt deliver in Warrior (2011). Since then, the actor chose only top projects, such as Zero Dark Thirty, The Great Gatsby and Exodus: Gods and Kings. His future projects include the long awaited Jane Got A Gun, as well as Black Mass.

The other actor who could portray Rick Flag according to the studio is Jon Bernthal, who is best known for hunting zombies in The Walking Dead - this isn't all, since he has had also parts in movies such as The Wolf of Wall Street, as well as Fury.

"¦ since Suicide Squad will also include Deathstroke. And much like in the case of Rick Flag, the studio has its eyes on another actor whose star has just risen. Joe Manganiello is wanted to play Slade Wilson - and, by the looks of it, the True Blood actor does look the badass needed for such a role.

So Suicide Squad may have lost a Rick Flag, but by the looks of it all is for the best!
