Mystique, Rebecca Romijn 's New Project?

X-Men: Apocalypse is due for arrival in theaters on May 27th, 2016. The plot remains unknown up until now, but the cast and crew are all in place. The actress who originally impersonated Mystique, Rebecca Romijn, recently revealed her definite interest in playing again the shape shifter villain in the new spinoff of the series.

Sure, the likelihood of that to happen is close to zero: presently highly acclaimed Jennifer Lawrence is already cast as Mystique. She will be reprising the role she successfully played in X-Men: First Class (2011) and in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). Some tend to believe it is to Lawrence that the redheaded character owes her new facets of ambiguity: not completely the typical good guy and yet not a straightforward antagonist.

But I guess we all know better: it is the new development of the plot that explores such depths of equivocality. Now, back to Mystique, Rebecca Romijn's enthusiast confession of considering a new return in X-Men surely draws out attention, but odds don't actually favor her.

Though the plot is not officially specified, X-Men: Apocalypse will deepen the narrative opened by its prequel in 2014. That means it will explore its characters at their younger age. As an emerging Mystique, Rebecca Romijn doesn't make much of sense to be cast, given her seniority to Jennifer Lawrence

The stretch of playing Mystique, Rebecca Romijn 's account about her experience on the set

"Going through nine hours of make-up, you're in such a rotten mood, you can't be anything but evil – it turns you into the villain that you need to be to play Mystique properly", says Romijn to Digital Spy. And for the sake of highlighting her twofold strains, a comparative notion is also dropped in: "from what I understand, her make-up is very different from the make-up I went through"¦ I don't think she had to go through everything that I went through", opines Romijn in reference to Lawrence's easier task on the set.

Now, as an older Mystique, Rebecca Romijn would definitely make an epic return. Do you see that happening any time soon? Chime in and let us know what you think about such a turn of events!
