The movie could indeed earn a hundred million USD more than its budget but the critics and fans had lambasted it! For instances, The New York Times reviewer didn't hesitate to call the movie "˜second-rate and ordinary' while the lead actor, the Batman of today, bagged the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor. Even the creator of the superhero, Stan Lee, didn't have good words to say about the movie!

However, in October, 2012, the screen rights of the superhero returned to the hands of Marvel Studio and they didn't intend to keep that unused for long! They hit upon a plan to develop Daredevil as a part of the gigantic Marvel Cinematic Universe which ultimately results in the upcoming live-action series at Netflix!
