We can count the days until the debut of Marvel's Jessica Jones on Netflix, and right before that we get to have some insights from the actors. The series is based on the story of Jessica Jones, a lapsed superhero, now a detective fighting with trauma from the past and an insidious villain. And this villain is Kilgrave (a.k.a The Purple Man).
David Tennant is going to portray The Purple Man on the small screen and he talked about this in an interview for The Guardian. David Tennant (Doctor Who) declared that he is a fan of comic books and Marvel's Jessica Jones is the kind of TV series he wished ha had seen when he was a kid.
"All the movies and TV shows I'd wished existed when I was a kid suddenly are here, so to be part of that was already tempting."
And Marvel's Jessica Jones is going to be a hit if we take into considerations the overwhelmingly positive reviews that came after New York Comic Con last month. Here's a sample:
David Tennant is terrifying. @Krystenritter is talented beyond words. @JessicaJones is going to blow everyone away; I promise. #MarvelNYCC

Marvel’s Jessica Jones features a complex villain
Tennant explained the wicked ways of his character that first appeared in Daredevil comic books and evolved into the main enemy of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Kilgrave's main ability is to control people's minds but that is more than a trick, it's a complex process as Tennant explains:
"As you start to unpick, it becomes quite complex, morally. How do you cope with that? How can you tell if people are doing things because they want to, or because you're asking them to? How can you have any sense of what the world is, or how the world should be, if your world is so particularly unique to you?"
This Daredevil spin-off will focus on the leading heroine and her fighting against The Purple Man. Alongside Jessica Jones, another Defender will come, and that is Luke Cage. There were trailers and teasers released, but there is still mystery around the happenings in the latest Marvel's TV series.
The show will run on Netflix starting November 20, and in the main role we will see Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) against the villainous Kilgrave portrayed by David Tennant (Doctor Who). Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) has also joined the production in a gender-flip role as Jeryn Hogarth.
