Fury Road has been one of the most hailed movies among fans and critics. The return of the Road Warrior is running for Oscars at this year’s Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director for George Miller who was at the helm of the production but he also contributed at the penning of the script.
And as fans did not get enough of Miller's movie, they hope that Fury Road will get a DVD/Blu-Ray with special cuts and editions. One of the biggest request from fans is that Fury Road gets a silent-film version in black and white and music only. The request is not impossible, and we might be able to purchase it in the stores in the near future.
The black-and-white version of Fury Road is on the way!
George Miller talked about a silent-film version in black and white for Fury Road in an interview with LA Times. Good news!
"Not in cinemas. The best version of Road Warrior was what we called a "˜slash dupe', a cheap, black-and-white version of the movie for the composer. Something about it seemed more authentic and elemental. So I asked Eric Whipp, the [Fury Road] colorist, "˜Can I see some scenes in black and white with quite a bit of contrast?' They looked great. So I said to the guys at Warner, "˜Can we put a black-and-white version on the DVD?' There wasn't enough room. [It'll end up] on another version with commentary and other features"
So yes! Fury Road is coming in a black-and-white version on DVD! Miller also talked about the way Fury Road was welcomed by the audience and the critics, confessing that he’s so excited when fans show him their Furry Road tattoos. He also mentioned the positive contribution of introducing feminist themes and their potential.
