6 months before the release date of the keenly awaited Mad Max: Fury Road, Warner Bros. has graced us with the second trailer of what promises to be a smash hit. We've watched the first one issued in July. And now there goes the second one. Not much details in excess of the first ad, but enough to increase tension.
The fact is the first trailer of Mad Max: Fury Road made such and impression on me, it's hard to shake off the impact. First of all, it's The Wives: their appearance in the first trailer is much more poignant. A demoiselle in distress always sells better. A handful of them, all the more. And then, it's the overture: it really contrasts with the dynamics of the subsequent footages. And I believe this is a plus.
Sand, fire, blood, baddies and Charlize Theron: the fixings of second Mad Max: Fury Road trailer
Charlize Theron is not one to easily overlook. All the more in this movie she impersonates the bald muscle-bound Imperator Furiosa. Quite a sacrifice for an acclaimed looker. But what doesn't a dedicated actor do for their calling?
For the rest, the second trailer of Mad Max: Fury Road largely replicates the first one. There are footages of Max Rockatansky owning the stage, of Max Rockatansky as victim, or of Max Rockatansky in any combo of the above. Immortan Joe and his zealots inevitably show up. Vehicles explode, people blow up and there's a feel of imminence: something catastrophic is about to happen in this desert of sand, in this desert of hope.
George Miller's production sees a host of celebs starring: Tom Hardy plays Max Rockatansky, Charlize Theron is Imperator Furiosa, Hugh Keays-Byrne gives life to Immortan Joe. Zoë Kravitz impersonates Toast. To top it off, several supermodels are also cast in Mad Max: Fury Road: Abbey Lee and Megan Gale.
Watch the trailer below and let us know your opinion. Do you think it is more convincing than the first?
