The Sony hack attack has leaked countless of emails until now - but this most recent batch should get any Spider-Man fan excited. As said before, Sony is looking forward to rebooting the franchise (AGAIN!) and this time they have chosen Kraven to do it!
Kraven?
Now just imagine the excitement the fans felt when Kevin Feige of Marvel announced that the Civil War is coming to the big screens - this same excitement could have been the one of the Spider-Man fans, since Kraven's Last Hunt is one of the best Spider-Man storylines ever. In fact, in 2012 it was voted by the fans as being the best!
But we look back at what Sony did with Spider-Man until now and we see that after Spider-Man 2 and Doc Ock they screwed up pretty much everything. So how can we, the fans, trust Sony to deliver us a Kraven just like in the comics, when they mutilated (for example) Venom in such a way?
What does Sony want?
Well, here is what the email said: What makes this story resonate with fans is that it proves it takes more than just the costume to become "Spider-Man." No matter what he's wearing, or what predicament he's facing, Peter Parker is sensitive, passionate, and connected to those he's interacting with in a very powerful way. It's not Peter's powers that make him special - Kraven, and every other superhuman in the Marvel Universe, all have powers. Peter is special because of his values, because of what drives him, because of the lessons he's learned from Uncle Ben's death, and because of his love for Mary Jane. I've pasted a few pivotal pages from this book so you can see just how intense this storyline is.
We also get to see how Mary Jane deals with Peter's disappearance, and how she would react if Peter ever died in action.
Keep in mind - this is just an idea of a reboot and Sony might choose another path
So, in a way, there are chances - chances of not seeing Kraven butchered like Venom (for example).
Just imagine if Kraven's Last Hunt was produced by Marvel - amazing right? But wake up to reality, since Sony has the reins and they constantly drove the Spider-Man franchise into a wall.
