While its graphic violence shocked audiences, Kingsman: The Secret Service was still one of 2014’s most entertaining movies. But, really, did anyone expect anything else from Matthew Vaughn? So far, the director has only helmed great movies, starting with the little Daniel Craig gem Layer Cake, continuing with the fabulous Stardust, and then switching to comic book movies Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class. Now, he has even more freedom to deliver yet another amazing flick, and with The Golden Circle, he’s expanding the universe even more than the original sources did:
There's an opportunity with Kingsman 2 to make it bigger and bolder and funnier and crazier"¦The church sequence, everyone wants something like that, but we've got action sequences which are just as original, but different (Empire Online).
It makes sense, because an American secret agency known as the Statesmen will join the Kingsman. Vaughn says:
[The Statesmen are] great characters. They're multi-billionaires with huge jets, and their base is a giant distillery in Kentucky. We've got all this fun Americana, and we're combining it with the Englishness.
But Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be about more than just big action sequences. The director says that the story of Eggsy, which is far from being over, will continue in the movie:
We've got a huge arc for Eggsy. Where does he go? What does he have to learn? And now he's got a huge moral dilemma the audience will totally relate to (for more, check out EOnline).
