While promoting his latest flick, Eddie the Eagle, Hugh Jackman was asked if there are any updates concerning the last Wolverine solo flick. And for good reason, we might add, since we haven't heard anything about the character for quite a while. So when the Collider interviewer asked if there was any progress in the writing of the script, the actor responded that yes, the script is almost finished.
Wolverine 3 is scheduled for release on the 3rd of March 2017 - but Hugh Jackman says that, in a way, there is no need to hurry things too much. Being his last outing in the Mutant Cinematic Universe, the actor wants it to be perfect.
However, he also said that he has already started preparing for the role - more specifically, he hasn't shaved in quite a while. And so, even if there is no certain starting date for the shooting, he is certainly looking forward to it.
Hugh Jackman also responded to Deadpool's friendly jabs - if you have repressed this memory, the Merc with a Mouth appeared in the first Wolverine solo film, which was actually the worst experience for the antihero. So, in another interview (this time with Yahoo), the actor said that Deadpool stands no chance against Wolverine.
Furthermore, he didn't dismiss the idea of an actual fight taking place in front of the cameras, even if he still maintains that Wolverine 3 will be his last movie in this shared universe: "I've never thought about it till now, but doing something with Ryan - he's awesome - that's always attractive to me. But I think you've probably got several other people lined up to play [Wolverine]"¦"
To be noted, many people believe that this next Wolverine should be portrayed by Taron Egerton, the main star of Eddie the Eagle. But, as the young actor said, "I don't think I've quite got the facial hair for it."
What do you think? Should Hugh Jackman returns for a brawl with Wade Wilson in the next Deadpool movie?
Furthermore, do you believe the rumors that Hugh Jackman will cameo in both X-Men: Apocalypse and Deadpool?
As far as we are concerned, we cannot wait to see how the last Wolverine flick connects to this year’s mutant extravaganza flick.
