Hellboy (2004) and its sequel (2008) surely must have scored points with the fans. Their failure to smash the box-office, however, did not convince the studios to pump money into a third installment. Not yet.
But lead man Ron Perlman - just as notoriously enthusiastic about this iffy franchise as director and writer Guillermo del Toro - made a call to action: about 3 weeks ago, he urged his fans and followers to trend the making of the grand finale.
He's clearly fond of the whole concept and knee-deep in promoting it, but studios don't stand in line to finance it.
Now, a new attempt to make the public plead for the end of the trilogy comes from Perlman. Hit 2 to see his latest comments!
Perlman is privy to del Toro's plans for Hellboy 3
And that's no wonder: del Toro confessed about a year ago he'd sponsor the movie himself if he had the money. Clearly he has developed something. So, what's the status of Hellboy 3 now?
Perlman points exactly that in an interview for Variety: "It's in Guillermo's head".
If you're a fan of del Toro's work, that must come as a relief. And, indeed, Perlman confirms: "["¦] he's shared enough of it with me to know that it will be mind-blowing. I mean it will be mind-blowing. It will be great cinema".
Plus, "["¦] if you are somebody who followed the first two movies, it will be even more mind-blowing because we have something"¦ if you liked the first one and the second one, we have something really rock 'em, shock 'em in the third one".
Does Ron Perlman's words convince you? Will you take action and support the making of the grand finale of Hellboy? Moreover, what studio do you think will be willing to finance the movie?
