The Exorcist is one of the scariest stories and it’s about to reach the small screen
William Peter Blatty's 1971 book The Exorcist is drawn from 1949 exorcism of Roland Doe and it follows a 12-year-old girl supposedly under demonic possession. Two priest conduct the exorcism that aims to chase away the demonic power out of the girl’s body. Warner Bros. made a movie based on the book that hit the theaters on December 26, 1973 and grossed more than $232 million at the box office.
The pilot will be a modern reinvention of the Blatty's book and will probably be as scary as the movie adaptation, a supernatural-horror drama. The bad news is that screenwriter Jeremy Slater doesn’t seem to have a good reputation. He was recently nominated for a Razzie for Worst Screenplay along with Simon Kinberg and Josh Trank. Ooopss! On another hand he is looked at for Adam Wingard's Death Note adaptation and penned the psychological thriller, Pet.
