As the Wu-Tang said, cash does rule everything around. And Fox is still willing to bet on Kinberg – after all, from a financial point of view, he is responsible just for one bad movie. So, from this point of view, Fantastic Four might just be considered a fluke.

And then they just can’t wait. The Fantastic Four still have plenty of fans – so they will probably search for the best formula. The rights cannot revert to Marvel and a deal is out of the question, since the X-Men franchise is actually very bankable.
