Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the sequel to Mathew Vaughn's biggest commercial success till date, is set to arrive in theaters on 16 June, 2017. With a script penned by Vaughn and Jane Goldman, the movie is expected to kick off its filming this month in London.
And The Hollywood Reporter claims that Kingsman: The Golden Circle is in need of the services of pop icon Sir Elton John! But they don't want his musical work, at least not at the moment. Instead, they want him as an actor! According to the report, Elton John is currently in talks to join the movie's cast roster for an undisclosed role.
Since John's acting credits is limited to voiceovers or acting as a narrator, the outlet assumes that he could play himself in the 20th Century Fox venture.
Matthew Vaughn will sit on the director's chair once again for Kingsman: The Golden Circle with Taron Egerton and Mark Strong returning as Eggsy and Merlin. The two will join forces with Statesman, Kingsman's American counterpart, which is led by Pedro Pascal's Jack Daniels and Halle Berry's Ginger. Julianne Moore will be seen playing the prime antagonist Poppy.
Roxy Morton cast Sophie Cookson and Charlie Hesketh cast Edward Holcroft from Kingsman: The Secret Service will reprise their roles in the sequel.
Few days back, Taron Egerton shared the first official poster of Kingsman: The Golden Circle which strongly teases the return of Colin Firth's Harry Hart, aka Galahad, who gets killed in the original movie. In the caption, Taron wrote "A message from an old friend." You can check out the poster below!
So, it remains to be seen if Collin Firth, too, comes back for the sequel.
