Deadpool is next year's first superhero movies. And ever since Ryan Reynolds was confirmed to reprise his role, he has been doing a great job at marketing the movie and keeping the fans more than interested in it.
Sure enough, it is a rather low budget superhero movie and it is also R-rated - which is a good thing, as far as the fans are concerned. And these might raise some questions whether or not the movie will prove to be bankable enough for a sequel to follow. But if 50 Shades of Grey made $570 million worldwide, why wouldn't Deadpool do too?
This is the kind of comparison the character would do"¦
Ryan Reynolds teases X-Force
But why all this talk about box office? Well, because Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds found yet another way to raise the interest even higher for this first movie. In this way, in his most recent interview with Comic Book, the star teased a movie about a team, a movie which is already rumored to be in development: "I'd also love to see X-Force develop too and turn into something pretty cool." (via Comic Book).
Now the rumor of X-Force being in development has been around for a couple of years. And if Deadpool will indeed attract the masses, maybe this movie will also happen, and not just a sequel. And if an R-rated superhero movie can do well at the box office, maybe"¦
But there is more from Ryan Reynolds! Check out on the next page with which character he'd like to meet on screen!
Deadpool and Cable
Obviously, the first mutant we'd think about is Wolverine - and Hugh Jackman expressed his interest to cameo in next year's movie. However, Ryan Reynolds believes that it won't happen, because of both of their schedules.
However, there is some other famous mutant with which Deadpool could share screen time. Still talking about X-Force, Ryan Reynolds said that his character is, "running against the grain for everything he does. He can't possibly conform to any sort of leadership role. He always has to be the wild card." (via Comic Book). Which is actually understandable.
So who could keep him in check? Well, the actor added, "So you'd have to have someone like Cable running point on a team like X-Force. I’d love for that to be a next step that we take." (via Comic Book)
So, next year, flock to the nearest cinema and see Deadpool! Make X-Force happen and bring Cable on the silver screens for the first time!
On the next page, a possible storyline!
What about Born Again?
Can this work? Especially since Apocalypse is coming"¦ We know that Cable wanted to prevent the first mutant from rising to power. So there is this connection"¦
But, frankly, we’re interested in what you think. Surely you can come up with better storylines… what would be the best one with Deadpool and Cable and which cab be adapted for the big screens?
