This year, Deadpool defied all odds and proved to Fox (and all the other major studios) that R-rated comic book movies can bring tons of cash at the box office. Naturally, the sequel will happen (most likely to be released in 2018), but the team will have plenty of time to come up with a script to top the first one (although, to be honest, the script wasn't exactly the reason for the movie’s success).
As said in the credits scene of the first film, Deadpool 2 will feature Cable for the first time on the big screen. But this isn't all - it was also rumored that Domino (a mutant with the power to alter probability in her favor), who acts as Cable's partner and lover, will also appear in the film.
Well, this rumor turned out to be true, according to Collider, which reports that the studio is already searching for an actress to bring her to life. The main contenders for the role are, according to the website, Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex, Cloverfield), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 10 Cloverfield Lane), Sienna Miller (American Sniper, GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra), Sofia Boutella (Star Trek: Beyond, Kingsman: The Secret Service), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre), and Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2019).
So Fox is checking out quite a few actresses for this role. But this isn't all – in an update, Collider also reports that Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black), Mackenzie Davis (The Martian), Eve Hewson (The Knick), and Kelly Rohrbach (Baywatch) are also candidates.
No matter which of these actresses is cast, one thing is certain: There are very high expectations as far as Deadpool 2 is concerned. Will Ryan Reynolds and Co. manage to pull it off once again? Time will tell"¦
