Colossus - Won't Be Back for X-Men: Apocalypse

Daniel Cudmore was Colossus

After a rather cool appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past (anyway, cooler than the one of Warpath or even Bishop), some fans might have expected to see Colossus in X-Men: Apocalypse too. After all, he is a rather important character in the comic books and he looks very fine when he takes his metal appearance.

Furthermore, this character also appears in the X-Men: Apocalypse origin story from the comic books, so there was no reason for this powerful mutant to be left out.

Sad news from Daniel Cudmore

Daniel Cudmore, who portrayed Colossus in all the X-Men movies (X2, X-Men: Last Stand and X-Men: Apocalypse) took on Twitter and said that he hasn't been contacted yet by the studio in order to reprise his role. Furthermore, he said that he sadly doesn't really think that he will ever be contacted for the X-Men: Apocalypse.

However, he did express his intention of appearing in Deadpool as Colossus - although the chances of appearing in the first solo film of the Merc with a Mouth are slimmer than for the other film.

So Colossus is out of the picture for good?

While this is just a rumor, if Daniel Cudmore wasn't contacted (yet) it doesn't really mean that Colossus won't be seen in future X-Men movies (and, who knows, maybe in X-Men: Apocalypse too). As it is known, Bryan Singer is already searching for younger versions of Cyclops and Jean Grey. What's stopping him from searching for a younger version of Colossus too?

After all, in the comics, Colossus's brother becomes one of Apocalypse's horsemen and the two brothers eventually clash.

X-Men: Apocalypse has Oscar Isaac cast as the main antagonist, as well as most of the actors that appeared in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. The movie will be released on the 27th of May 2016.

Deadpool will be released in the same year, but earlier, on the 12th of February. Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as the main character, a role in which he appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
