20th Century Fox may still have a lot of things to figure out in regard to Deadpool 2, but it seems as though they are still aiming at heading into production early next year. According to Comic Book, the working title for the sequel to the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever and highest-grossing X-Men Universe installment has been revealed. The movie will operate under the working title Love Machine.
The working title seems to be punned on Cable, the time-traveling mutant with a cybernetic arm and eye, who will be introduced in Deadpool 2. Fox has yet to sign an actor for the role, but that's not the only major step they will have to take before kicking off production.
Tim Miller, who directed the original movie, recently left Deadpool 2 due to multiple creative differences with titular actor and producer Ryan Reynolds. While one report suggests that the two couldn't agree on who would portray Cable, another one claims that the two have very different visions for the sequel.
Reynolds, along with screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, wants to make a mini-budgeted Deadpool 2 with a strong focus on wit and humor, like the first one. Miller, on the other hand, wants it to be a big-budgeted and visually epic sequel. So, at the moment, the studio is looking for a director who shares the same vision as the lead actor. Could that be Quentin Tarantino? Some fans definitely think so!
Fox has another major signing to do. Domino, another popular Marvel superhero, is set to appear in Deadpool 2, but an actress is yet to be cast for the role. Recent reports, however, have suggested that there are a few actresses already in consideration to play the mutant.
