The third Wolverine movie may have wrapped up production around a month and a half ago, and may be less than five months away from hitting the theaters, but we have yet to be offered its first official trailer. 20th Century Fox hasn't even released a poster or a teaser, nor have they announced the movie's title. That's very rare for a big budget superhero movie, but the good news is that we may not be very far away from SOMETHING on Wolverine 3.
Nope, I'm not referring to James Mangold's tweet from last month! In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight (via Comic Book Movie), Hugh Jackman shared that they are about to release something on Wolverine 3 in the coming weeks. He says:
We finished shooting. I just saw James Mangold today, he’s editing away and finishing that. I’m very, very excited about it. There’s going to be some stuff coming out in the next week or so, that’s all I’ll say.
I think it’s safe to assume that by "some stuff", the 47-year-old actor meant at least a poster or teaser that will provide us with our first official look at his character and confirm the movie's title. If we are lucky enough, we might also get the first trailer.
During the interview, Jackman promised that his final appearance as Wolverine will be different from the previous ones. According to the Aussie actor:
Basically, it’s going to be very different. Very different in tone and hopefully, very different from anything that we’ve done.
It already seems very different, doesn't it? We already know that, unlike the first two Wolverine movies, or the mainstream X-Men movies in which Jackman's character has appeared, this one is going to have an R rating. And in the photos leaked from the movie's set, the clawed mutant looks way older than he ever has, since the film is based (at least to some extent) on the Old Man Logan comic book storyline.
