Director Joe Russo has let us know that the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer is on its way, and it should arrive anytime soon. Until that happens, we can only return to last week’s D23 Expo footage to see what we’ve missed. We can say that there’s plenty that was quite understandably overlooked. After all, the D23 Expo revealed Thanos in action for the first time.

So what are the minor details that could prove to be major in the upcoming movies? Well, we need look no further than the beginning of the footage, when Thor finally meets the Guardians of the Galaxy.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW!

The Guardians, who have on their meanest faces, literally bump into the God of Thunder, who’s floating in space, unconscious. While there’s some comedy, this scene might take place immediately after the Thor: Ragnarok events, because Thor’s still wearing his gladiator suit and he’s badly injured.

Of course, he’s escaped Grandmaster’s arena, and has most likely brought Hulk along on his journey to Asgard. But things can get complicated, especially given the title of the final Thor flick. Did Thor and Hulk defeat Hela? It’s possible, but it will still end badly for Thor, since the Mad Titan will most likely visit Asgard to get the Tesseract.

But it could also end with Thor and Hulk defeated, and Hela sitting on the throne. This could be the Ragnarok from the movie’s title. And knowing that the Green Goliath will play a major role in the upcoming Avengers flicks (and that Iron Man will don the Hulkbuster armor in Infinity War), we can also assume that Hulk will indeed find himself on the opposite side of the barricade from the Avengers.

Of course, these are assumptions, and it’s an assumption that a victorious Hela could be the personification of Death in the MCU.

Either way, the Avengers: Infinity War footage shown at the D23 Expo revealed that Thor: Ragnarok doesn't end well for the God of Thunder.
