The untitled Wolverine 3 movie, which marks the return of Hugh Jackman as the titular superhero for one last time, along with Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, has already kicked off its filming in New Orleans. Apart from those two, the movie's cast roster also includes Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal, and Elizabeth Rodriguez. But we don't have any confirmation of what roles any of them will play.
However, we now have some idea about villains we can expect to see in Wolverine 3. According to Nerdist, the group of criminal cyborgs named the Reavers will appear in the movie.
Those who are familiar with X-Men comics must know about this villainous group. The Reavers are not only known for their criminal activities like thefts and assassinations. They are equally known for their hatred toward the mutants and their dedicated service in wiping out the race.
The outlet can't confirm whose lead the Reavers will be following in Wolverine 3. But they speculate it's either Donald Pierce or Mister Sinister.
The group has served under the leadership of Donald Pierce in the comics. The same thing might be happening in the James Mangold flick, too.
Richard E. Grant is reportedly playing "a villainous mad-scientist" in the movie. Donald Pierce is a genius in the fields of robotics, cybernetics and electronics, and he can be termed as a psychopath. So, Grant's character in the movie might be Pierce.
Again, Boyd Holbrook, who is "head of security for a global enterprise", is reportedly the lead villain in the movie . There are theories that the global enterprise could be either the Hellfire Club or Essex Corp. Either of those could be backing the Reavers.
The post-credits scene of X-Men: Apocalypse and the rumored X-23 appearance in Wolverine 3 both come into play in triggering these speculations.
Apart from dropping the rumor and the theories, the outlet also claims to have "heard small rumblings" that Liev Schreiber's Sabretooth might appear in Wolverine 3!
