Now more than ever, superheroes – and the actors portraying them – are in the spotlight. And every once in a while, we hear about something as awesome as an actor visiting a children’s hospital in character to surprise his fans. Is it part of a marketing campaign? Is it on the actor's initiative? It doesn't really matter, does it? As long as the studio and the actor try to support their most hardcore fans, we can only appreciate the gesture.
And Tom Holland, the new Spider-Man - who already debuted this year in Captain America: Civil War, and who will have his first solo MCU film next year – is one of these actors. Dressed as Spider-Man (as in barely standing the heat, as revealed when he removed his mask), the actor visited some kids, together with his Homecoming co-star Zendaya. How did it all go down?
The actress posted this funny clip on Instagram. So check it out below!
As Tom Holland says, it doesn't really make sense. But the best thing about it is that it doesn't need to! Spider-Man and Batman have always been the most beloved characters from Marvel and DC. And even if it’s obvious that the Dark Knight is currently the most awesome character from DC comics, Spider-Man is making a comeback - do you really wonder whether the web crawler will become more popular than Iron Man?
Of course, a rumor has already started – is this clip the beginning of the marketing campaign for Homecoming, and will it be followed by the first teaser-trailer (or even a full trailer)?
What do you think?
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on the 7th of July 2017.
