Sure, narrative-wise, Jane could very well be slotted in any of the movies Thor himself appears. She's a scientist, and I believe she could make one hell of a team with Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in Avengers 2.

My point is if there's no future for Thor and Jane in Marvel stories as adapted for the big screen, it's not because plots won't allow it. Thor and Jane's future is decided from behind the scenes.

But, perhaps that's just a rough patch. And if Marvel and Portman strike a better deal, who knows, maybe we get to see Thor and Jane together again on the big screen.
