If you don’t know Hope Summers is, she is a mutant from the future who is, according to one prophecy, a messiah and the undoing of humankind according to another. Now, let’s focus on her ability. Hope can absorb any existing power, meaning that, if the conditions are right, she can do just about anything. Like Jean Grey, Hope is also one of the phoenix incarnate, which justifies the two prophecies mentioned before. Furthermore, she has displayed a lot of unspecified abilities, like immunity to Rouge’s power steal, or the ability to erase all the powers Rouge has stored. Perhaps by acquiring the power she gains insight into how it works and how to counter it.
