Marvel Cinematic Universe - or in short, the MCU - is the most flourished shared comic book universe in Hollywood. Eleven MCU movies have already been released and the twelfth one - Ant-Man - is set to hit the theaters in less than a month, which will bring an end to their Phase Two slot. The Phase Three kicks off next year with Captain America: Civil War followed by nine more movies.
One of the most special things about this third phase is that it will offer us the first female superhero standalone movie in the MCU - Captain Marvel. We have indeed seen female superheroes of enormous importance in the cinematic universe - Black Widow and Scarlett Witch - but none have had any standalone yet. Better late than never - that's what I can say about the progress!
What about the LGBT characters (or LGBTQ characters)? We haven't seen a single one in the MCU yet! But there are around 129 homosexual characters in the Marvel Comics alone, as per Marvel Wikia. Since last week's U.S. Supreme Court ruling that their Constitution vows a right to same-sex marriage has been the hottest topic all around the globe, Marvel President Kevin Feige couldn't escape a query on their plans about introducing LGBT characters in the MCU in a recent interview with Collider.
And Kevin didn't hesitate to say that we will definitely get to see LGBT characters in the MCU, but when? That's what you have to find out in the following segment!

When Can We Expect LGBT Characters In The MCU?
According to Kevin, he "˜would think' Marvel Cinematic Universe will come up with LGBT characters "˜within the next decade'! That's sounds like a long time, isn't it? But the Marvel President has an explanation for this which you will get to read in the following segment. However, don't forget that he's used a "˜for sure' in his statement!
Kevin Explains Why That Much Time Might Be Needed!
Let's get straight away to the explanation that Kevin offers:
“Well in the drawing board going up to 2019 it remains to be seen. The comics always make the path that we get to have the fun of saying, "˜Yeah let's choose this way or let's choose this way' and I think there are a lot of cool things happening in the comics now that"”it's usually a five to ten-year cycle between when something happens in the comics and when we can do it in the movie, sometimes a little less, but Civil War is certainly about the 10-year mark. Winter Soldier, I think, was around that time. So we always look at stuff that's happening in the comics and go, "˜Where could we do that?' Sometimes it's sooner, but there's no reason why that couldn't happen in the next decade or sooner.”
