Here is an unexpected piece of news: Sylvester Stallone might have grabbed a role in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II!
This rumor (and it is just a rumor, since it has not been confirmed by any of the involved parties) comes from the New York Daily News, which reports that Sylvester Stallone was spotted in the same hotel where the Guardians of the Galaxy cast currently stays, with what appeared to be a script in his hand. Not only that, but the newspaper also reports that the actor then quickly entered the car that is usually assigned to Guardians star Chris Pratt.
Sylvester Stallone in a Marvel movie - we cannot express our bewilderment AND excitement for this. While the evidence is only circumstantial at the moment, it points to the possibility that the three-time Oscar-nominated actor will join Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and all the others in the James Gunn-directed sequel.
The rumor has been picked up by quite a few websites so far, including Screen Crush, Comic Book, CBM, IGN, and others. As the Daily News further states, Sylvester Stallone’s role in the planned sequel wouldn’t be a large one. Instead, he would only have one simple cameo, which is pretty out of the ordinary for such a big star, who is used to starring in his movies.
What do you think, though? Was Sylvester Stallone actually cast in the movie? Or was he just visiting old friend and Tango and Cash co-star, Kurt Russell? The latter has been officially announced for the movie, and will most likely portray Star Lord's father (though his actual role in the sequel hasn’t been confirmed just yet).
There could be another possibility though - maybe Stallone is planning another Expendables movie"¦Anyway, this news will certainly stir up some rumors on the web.
