Some may call the upcoming Captain America: Civil War as an Avengers 2.5 for its featuring thirteen superheroes. But that number is negligible compared to what Avengers: Infinity War movies will feature. There will be as many as 68 characters in the next two Avengers movies, confirmed by the Russo Brothers.
And it seems like the Guardians of the Galaxy team will be in it as well. At least Chris Pratt's Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, will appear in Avengers: Infinity War! We can be sure about that because the directors have confirmed it to Comic Book during a recent press event. And Anthony Russo says:
The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that’s happened before in the MCU so you don’t want to get into spoilers but I’m a big fan of what James Gunn has done.
He adds that not only him, but also his brother, are "both big fans" of James Gunn's work. Anthony adds:
Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you’d be very excited.
The Russo Brothers have not only confirmed appearance of Chris Pratt's character in Avengers: Infinity War movies, but also that of Chris Hemsworth's Thor! And they also claim to know what will be happening in Thor: Ragnarok! Joe Russo states:
I’m excited to work with Thor. They’re doing some really interesting stuff with Ragnarok and where he’s gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he’s gonna have a real emotional motivation after that.
It seems like the destruction of Asgard is inevitable in Thor: Ragnarok! Well, we didn't have much doubt about the Norse God of Thunder's appearance in Avengers: Infinity War movies but we weren't that so sure about Peter Quill's arrival. James Gunn's band of anti-heroes has stayed separate from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe till now. And we didn't get positive responses from anyone before. So, this confirmation comes as big surprise to us.
