Spider-Man Writer Talks Villains for the Big Screen

Spider-Man

You may not be a fan of Dan Slott's writing of The Amazing Spider-Man comics, but he may know a bit more about the planned reboot than most of us. In a recent interview, he talks about what storylines would better fit the cinematic universe, as well as some of his favorite villains.

Now, of course, you may have heard about all of these before. However, this may be seen as a confirmation to these previous rumors concerning the fate of the web-slinger.

Spider-Man - a storyline for a reboot

In his interview, Dan Slott talks about a particular storyline we have always wanted to see translated for the big screens. And that storyline is Kraven's Last Hunt (about which the writer says that it is the best Spider-Man story ever told).

About translating this particular story for the silver screen, the writer says that there are stories which need to be adapted and there are stories which should be followed closely. Kraven's Last Hunt is one of the latter stories which, if followed closely, will certainly bring back the estranged fans of the franchise.

Mysterio as a favorite villain

Dan Slott also talked about what villains should be brought next on the big screens. And his all-time favorite would be Mysterio, because this villain would be able to do something others couldn't. Given the fact that his powers are, basically, special effects, Spider-Man would find himself confronted with alien invasions, blown-up White Houses, ghosts and many other threats which couldn't be seen if, say, Doc Ock would be the main antagonist.

But this isn't all"¦

Dan Slott also spoke about the identity of Spider-Man. In just a few words, the writer said that it doesn't really matter who is hidden under that mask, as long as he wears the mask. In other words, he expressed his hope that, in the end, Peter Parker will not be the only web-slinger to crawl on the big screens.
