Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures released a brief sneak peek for Spider-Man: Homecoming yesterday. In addition to offering us a first look at the Spider-Tracer and teasing an exciting fight sequence between Spidey and The Vulture, it announced that the second full-length trailer would arrive today. The new trailer has arrived as promised, and it features a lot more than the sneak peak did…Perhaps a little too much more!
When it was revealed that Tony Stark, aka Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), would appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming, we expected to see him in a brief cameo. However, the new trailer makes it clear that Tony is as significant a character in the upcoming Jon Watts flick as Michael Douglas' Hank Pym in Ant-Man and Tilda Swinton's Ancient One in Doctor Strange. He gets great deal of footage in the trailer, some of which reveals that at one point in the movie, Tony takes back the upgraded suit he gave to Peter Parker.
Michael Keaton's Adrian Toomes, aka The Vulture, is also spotlighted more than we expected. We see him beat the hell out of Tom Holland's webslinger. Co-producer Eric Hauserman recently stated that Keaton's big baddie has "a bone to pick" with RDJ's billionaire superhero, and he evolves into "the dark Tony Stark".
The second Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer also features Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), Liz Allan (Laura Harrier), Michelle (Zendaya), Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), Shocker (Bokeem Woodbine), The Tinkerer (Michael Chernus), and one undisclosed character (Donald Glover). There's also a brief cameo by Chris Evans as Captain America! Check it out below!
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May, under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark. Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine - distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man - but when The Vulture emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
