The still-untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will apparently introduce Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman.
We've heard over the last several months that a mysterious young European lady would appear in the second solo outing for Peter Parker (Tom Holland). Leaked audition tapes suggested that it would be Gwen Stacy, but the iconic Spider-Man love-interest is actually a blond, blue-eyed American girl in Marvel Comics.
Later, we learned that the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment was searching for a European actress in her twenties to play a femme fatale. It's still unclear whether this character and the one from the audition tapes are one and the same. Fans have speculated that the audition tape character could be Jessica Drew, Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), Silver Sablinova (Silver Sable), or Kate Bishop (similar to the Earth-1610 version).
However, That Hashtag Show recently reported that the femme fatale is now being described as a Bond-girl type international agent. Based on this new info, THS feels that it's safe to assume that the sequel’s mystery lady won’t be Black Cat or Kate Bishop. She’s more likely to be Jessica Drew, who grew up in the fictional European country Transia. She initially served as a Hyrda agent before switching sides to join S.H.I.E.L.D.
Of course, it's also possible that Jon Watts and company are seeking an actress to play Wild Pack leader Silver Sable, a native of fictional European country Symkaria. But she doesn't really strike us as a Bond girl.
Whether it's Jessica or Silver remains to be seen, but this international agent will apparently encounter two additional agents while in the field. According to THS, Marvel is looking for an actor aged 40 to 60 and an actress aged 40 to 49 to take on those lead roles in Spider-Man Homecoming 2.
