Spider-Man: Homecoming may have wrapped up its production recently, but the rumors related to the movie don't seem to be fading away anytime soon. Schmoes Know has come up with the latest rumors, suggesting the arrival of a new villain and a surprise cameo. These can be considered as potential SPOILERS for the Jon Watts flick, so continue only if you are wearing your invisible protective gear to counter the intense irritation that may be caused by reading something spoiler-y!
The website claims that Spider-Man: Homecoming features a villain, apart from The Vulture and The Shocker, who doesn't have any superpowers. This villain "butts heads", not with Spider-Man, but with Peter Parker in his everyday life.
They suggest that he "may be the new someone" the unusually attractive Aunt May has started dating. Holland's character isn't comfortable about the relationship, but this guy may not be "actually bad". It could be that it's "Peter's prejudices (that are) clouding his judgment".
From the description, it doesn't seem as though the villain they are referring to is Phineas Mason, aka The Tinkerer, who is reportedly also appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming. And, of course, Uncle Ben hasn't been the only man in Aunt May's life in the comics. Since her husband's death, she has had romantic relationships with characters like Edwin Jarvis, Nathan Lubensky, Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus), Willie Lumpkin, and John Jonah Jameson, Sr.
Since The Vulture is the big baddie in Spider-Man: Homecoming, it seems likely that the new love interest of Marisa Tomei's character is Lubensky. He died after preventing the supervillain from kidnapping Aunt May in the comics.
According to the website, the July 7, 2017 release has a surprise cameo appearance in store for us from a character who is "central to the Spider-Man mythos". This character will have "a larger role" to play in the upcoming installments. Again, they can't confirm the character's identity, but they suspect that he could be Norman Osborne, aka Green Goblin.
However, we mustn't forget that Osborne has appeared in both Sam Raimi and Marc Webb's Spider-Man movies, so whether Marvel Studios wants to bring him back this early remains to be seen. Maybe it’s Cletus Kasady before becoming Carnage. It’s speculated that Better Call Saul star Michael Mando is portraying the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
