With almost a year until its release, we still don't know that much about Spider-Man: Homecoming. Of course, there are the usual rumors concerning some still undisclosed roles, but that's about all.
One of these rumors says that Bokeem Woodbine will play a secondary villain to Michael Keaton's Vulture (even Keaton's role is a rumored one). Until now, it was said – without any evidence – that Woodbine will portray the Shocker, a supervillain who was supposed to appear in the opening scenes of The Amazing Spider-Man 3. And, it appears that he is indeed playing this character.
A couple of new photos have surfaced on the web, featuring a costumed character on the Atlanta set of Spider-Man: Homecoming. And while the character isn't exactly pulled straight out of the comics, there is a resemblance to the Shocker from the comics.
Of course, these being photos from the set, we can’t expect them to be too clear. But, nonetheless, the costume does look good - like something one would come up without that many resources. Check them out (via CBM)!
So is that the Shocker, or not? The color pattern does seem to match the one from the comics. Furthermore, this presumed villain also has some devices attached to his hands, which might be used to send shock-waves toward Spider-Man.
Now, of course, there is still one question: Is that Bokeem Woodbine under the mask? The suit does look a bit baggy, don't you think?
All in all, if Vulture and Shocker do turn out to be the main baddies of the movie, the web-crawler will have his hands full. Especially if the Tinkerer also decides to join the gang, as all the rumors seem to suggest.
