Another name in the cast roster for Sony Pictures' Morbius movie has been revealed - this time, it's a Mad Men alum.
Deadline is reporting that Jared Harris, who portrayed Lane Pryce in the AMC period drama, has landed a role in the Morbius movie. Apart from Mad Men, Harris has also had significant roles in small-screen ventures like Fringe, The Crown, The Expanse, and The Terror. His big-screen credits include Mr. Deeds, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
The identity of the British actor's character in the upcoming Daniel Espinosa-directed Spider-Verse installment has been kept under wraps. There's also no hint on whether he would be playing one of the good guys or a baddie. But we certainly hope that he gets to play a major part in the movie - an actor of his caliber deserves no minor role.
Harris is joining the cast roster which already includes Suicide Squad and Blade Runner 2049 star Jared Leto, True Detective star Adria Arjona and Doctor Who star Matt Smith. While Leto is starring as the titular anti-hero, Arjona and Smith are rumored to play the female lead Martine Bancroft and the villainous Loxias Crown.
Last month, Leto confirmed on Instagram that the filming of the Morbius movie has already begun in London. We can hope to come across more updates in the coming days, even though Sony has been super secretive about the movie. So far, not a single photo or video has leaked from the set and the content of Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama's script remains largely a mystery. But again, the closer we come to its release date of July 31, 2020, the more we'll get to know about it.
