In less than a week, Doctor Strange will be the next Marvel Cinematic Universe installment to roll into theaters, but Marvel Studios has already wrapped up production for all of the movies they have scheduled for release next year. While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 concluded its filming back in June and Spider-Man: Homecoming was finished earlier this month, yesterday was the last day of shooting for Thor: Ragnarok.
To mark the occasion, Taika Waititi posted a live video from the movie's set on the Gold Coast of Australia. In that video, we saw Tessa Thompson sporting face paint for Valkyrie, the character she is portraying in the November 3, 2017 release. However, she wasn't wearing the superhero's outfit.
But now, thanks to a Twitter user (via Comic Book Movie), we have our first look at Thompson in full Valkyrie costume. Since these are merely set photos, rather than stills officially released by Marvel, the actress doesn't look as glamorous as we might expect.
While Thompson's Thor: Ragnarok outfit is mostly composed of black and silver, the cape, like the one worn by her character in the comics, is blue in color. Check out the set photos below!
Apart from the set photos, we also have a couple of videos from the Sakaar set of Thor: Ragnarok. While one of the videos features costumed extras moving in a flock, the other one shows us the back of Chris Hemsworth's head! Check them out below!
Despite not succeeding at keeping Valkyrie's costume secret to the last minute, it must be said that Taika Waititi and Marvel have done a commendable job of preventing major set leaks throughout the movie's production! We still haven't had our first look at Cate Blanchett's Hela, Karl Urban's Skurge, or Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster. So there is a lot to look forward to as Marvel continues to market Thor: Ragnarok.
