After an absence of about two and a half years, Mark Ruffalo will be back as the Hulk in this November's Thor: Ragnarok and next year's Avengers: Infinity War. But don’t expect the Green Rage Monster to have worked out his anger issues.
In fact, Ruffalo recently told Good Morning America that we’re in for an even angrier version of the Hulk in the Taika Waititi flick:
He (the Hulk) is even more angry than he was the last time we saw him…for a much longer period of time.
In the first official Thor: Ragnarok trailer, Chris Hemsworth's Norse God of Thunder was excited about meeting his "friend from work" at the gladiatorial arena of the planet Sakaar, but Hulk exhibited nothing but rage. When the scene was mentioned during the GMA interview, the 49-year-old Ruffalo joked:
It's fun. It's just fun. It's fun smashing him (Thor). He is just a puny god.
The GMA correspondent asked Ruffalo whether Thor and Hulk eventually succeeded in saving Asgard, he said that he couldn’t answer the question, but he did make the following comment:
Let me just say this: Like every other Marvel movie, it (Thor: Ragnarok) doesn't end well for the superheroes.
The interviewer agreed that the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies often end dismally, and the three-time Academy Award nominee seemed get a bit carried away:
Wait until you see this next one (Avengers: Infinity War). Everybody dies.
At this point, Don Cheadle, who was sitting beside Ruffalo throughout the interview, called him out, yelling, "Dude!" Embarrassed, Ruffalo dials it back:
Not everybody, no"¦Can we rewind that part? Am I in trouble? Is Barry going to be mad at me?
Of course, it's entirely possible that this was a setup similar to Michael Rooker's trip to the Avengers: Infinity War set to prevent the disclosure of Yondu's death in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. You just can't trust Marvel actors these days!
