Major Thor: Ragnarok Spoiler Dropped During Interview

With just over two weeks to go until the release of Thor: Ragnarok, we’ve already witnessed how Marvel's marketing machine can stumble. First, after Marvel asked Mark Ruffalo to do a live Instagram feed backstage at the movie’s premiere, the actor unknowingly livestreamed audio from the beginning of the movie.

Apparently yet another slip-up occurred during an interview with Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth on the Australian show The Project. If you don’t mind a spoiler or two, check it out below, following the latest clip for the movie!

In the comics, the relationship of Thor, Loki, and Hela was quite clear. We already knew that there was no way that the movie’s Hela could be Odin’s daughter.

Beginning at 6:22 in the clip from The Project, one of the hosts repeatedly said that Hela was Thor's sister. Neither actor appeared to know how to react to that. In response to a follow-up question, Chris Hemsworth said that there are a number of issues within Thor's family, and added that future movies should probably avoid exploring his family tree any further.

Of course, this slip-up might have been choreographed to throw the fans off track. However, the reactions of both actors and host spoke volumes.

We'll have to wait and see if this twist actually takes place. But it would make sense, especially if Hela believes she’s entitled to Asgard's throne. On the other hand, it wouldn’t make sense, because no mention has been made of any other siblings – besides the adopted Loki – in any of the previous movies.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 3.
