The Marvel Cinematic Universe is filled with countless species, and each is more interesting than the one before, from humans of Earth to Thor: Ragnarok’s native insectoids of Sakaar. Future movies are likely to introduce even more new and exciting characters as the Marvel cinematic shared universe continues to expand.
Of all of these species, one of the most interesting hails from Duckworld, a comic book planet in an alternate dimension that’s populated by…well, it’s self-explanatory, right? A member of this species, Howard the Duck, was introduced in a Guardians of the Galaxy credits scene. Can we expect to see more appearances from this unusual superhero? Check it out, but watch for spoilers!
If you’ve already seen Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, you know that Howard the Duck cameos in the movie, enjoying a drink (and more) on Contraxia. What’s more interesting, though, is that James Gunn has hinted that we haven't seen the last of Howard. But what does Kevin Feige have to say about this character joining the MCU?
You know, the fun thing about Howard is he shows up where you least expect him, so like who knows where he's going to appear next (via Screen Rant)?
It seems clear to us that there will be additional Howard the Duck cameos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We feel that his appearances will remain as cameos because, while the MCU is a weird place, a talking duck might still be a bit too weird, even with a raccoon as a major character. Will the duck pop up in Thor: Ragnarok? In Guardians of the Galaxy 3? In the Infinity War? We don't know.
However, this sort of Easter-Egg makes fans happy.
