Kevin Feige is apparently just as much in the dark as the rest of us Marvel fans when it comes to the question of whether the X-Men and Fantastic Four will ever join the MCU.
Feige addressed the issue – which everyone thought would be resolved as soon as the Disney/Fox merger was finalized – at the Produced By Conference. But the deal hadn’t been finalized, and things got even more confusing when Comcast announced that it was prepared to outdo Disney’s $52.5 billion bid for Fox’s assets by submitting their own $60 billion bid.
So the fans’ interest in learning whether the X-Men and the Fantastic Four will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe has reached fever pitch. As it turns out, Feige wants to know, too:
Feige on potentially getting the X-Men: “I'm just sitting, waiting for a phone call to say yea or nay, but obviously it would be nice to have access to that entire library.”

Of course, Disney is more than capable of outbidding Comcast, especially if we remember that the MCU, with all its box office records, is the most successful movie franchise ever. Adding the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and all their related characters, the Marvel’s success rate can only reach even greater heights.
Feige added that Marvel’s current focus is on the movies that are scheduled for release in the near future, such as Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers 4, Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3:
It's all about getting Infinity War finished and out, starting Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Untitled Avengers, the next Spider-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3. These are the ones that are keeping us busy. When and how that deal with Fox finishes and comes together, and we're told, “Hey, now you can start working on it. Now you can start thinking about it,” is when we'll actually start thinking about it. I will say just the notion of having what, frankly, most other companies with [intellectual property] have all along, which is access to all of their characters, that would be fun (ComicBook, via EW).
Yes, it would! And in addition to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, Marvel’s almost certain to gain access to some great Fox villains to follow Thanos.
