James Gunn “˜Excited’ about DOCTOR STRANGE Script!

Just a few days back, Marvel Studios announced the official cast of Doctor Strange. It also confirmed that the movie has kicked off its production. Well, not only is the movie named Doctor Strange but also it appears to be a real strange project! For example, it features a gender-swapped mentor and an amalgamated supervillain!

But, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn thinks there's nothing to worry about the fourteenth Marvel Cinematic Universe installment!

During a Facebook Live broadcast, the director revealed he has gone through the script of Doctor Strange movie crafted by Jon Spaihts. And he is thrilled about it! Here's what he said:

"I like Doctor Strange, but I’m really excited about the new script. I like the script a lot so I’m very excited about the movie.

James Gunn also revealed his confidence on Scott Derrickson pulling off something outstanding with the November 4, 2016 release. Well, there was something unique about Gunn's surprise 2014 blockbuster. It was something very different from the previous MCU installments.

The director thinks that Doctor Strange is going to be exceptional in the way his GOTG was. He stated:

"I think Scott Derrickson is going to do something very unique visually. In the same way that Guardians came in and was a unique visual take on the Marvel Universe that was very different from the stuff that came before it, I think Doctor Strange is going to be the same way.

Doctor Strange is one of the many comic book characters that are set to make their live-action cinematic debut in 2016. But this isn't the first attempt to make a live-action movie on the Sorcerer Supreme.

In the early days of Marvel Studios, Neil Gaiman and Guillermo Del Toro were rumored to be developing a Doctor Strange movie. That didn't happen eventually, but Gaiman still regrets about it.

While regretting about it recently, the British author/screenwriter has revealed it was the studio that showed lack of interest! Check out his tweet below!
